Longtime fans of Liz and Lucky have been anticipating their reunion and at the end of General Hospital’s September 30 episode, they finally came face to face. Viewers could see the mixed emotions in Liz’s eyes and though the ABC soap won’t be seen for two days, due to MLB playoffs, Jonathan Jackson has shared a little preview to hold us over until Thursday.
The returning soap vet chatted with Soap Opera Digest and described their reunion as being filled with “tension.” Lucky clearly feels “a lot of remorse and guilt” and the scenes will display the “awkwardness of the situation, of him not really being there for the last decade.” While seeing each other after all of these years may feel a bit tense for the characters, for the actor, the scenes were “fun to play,” due to the rapport he has with Rebecca Herbst.
As one can expect, Liz and Lucky will have a lot of catching up to do and one topic will be front and center, their son Aiden, played by newcomer Colin Cassidy. Jackson looks forward to exploring the father/son relationship and reflected on a past one between Lucky and Luke. “Playing Tony’s son was just so fascinating, and I’m so looking forward to it,” he told the outlet. “I mean, that’s another amazing part of this medium that is so unique. I started [as Lucky] at age 11 and got to be the child and teenager to Tony and Genie [Francis, Laura], to Luke and Laura, and then get to come back as an adult and Lucky has his own grown son … It’s really a very unique and special thing.”
We can’t wait to watch how it all unfolds… How about you? Leave us your thoughts and wishlist in the comment section for what you’d like to see happen now that Lucky’s back in Port Charles.
