With the bombshell today that not only is this new Abigail fake, she’s working with Dr. Mark Greene who changed the DNA tests, Days of Our Lives has officially pushed us into uncharted territory. Why are they working together? What’s their relationship? What’s their end goal? And maybe most importantly, is the real Abigail still out there somewhere alive?
Because this revelation may have just set up one heck of a twist.
Maybe Clyde was telling the truth but he wasn’t talking about this woman. Maybe she and Mark got wind of an opportunity to work their way into the DiMera household and make some cash. Holly and Tate just mentioned how Mark had to raise Felicity and Aaron when their parents died. Doctor or no, maybe he’s struggling financially and decided to leap at the chance to make some money for the family.
Or, let’s be honest, they could both just be working for Clyde, whether under duress or not. He did, after all, give Chad the video evidence that led him to “Abigail.”
But regardless of why this fake Abigail was set loose in the DiMera mansion, the real Abigail could still be out there and alive waiting to come back — and be played by Marci Miller once again! Why do we say that? Well, Kate Mansi’s tied up over on General Hospital and both Chad and the fake Abigail keep looking at a photo of the happy couple together back when Miller played her.
In fact, the photo has been so glaringly in our face that we can’t help but think it’s significant. And now that we know AnnaLynne McCord isn’t actually Abigail (admittedly, though, there could still be a few more surprise twists heading our way), the show seems to be setting up the return of the real deal played again by Miller!
That’s right: No amnesia. No plastic surgery. Maybe Clyde’s still got her captive somewhere while he plays out whatever twisted plan he’s cooked up with Mark and the fake Abigail. We can’t say for certain just yet, but don’t be surprised if, by the end of this story, Miller’s Abigail is back home once again, and all is right in the world of Salem.
Well, as right as things ever get in that town.
