Brandon Barash spent quite a number of years playing Stefan DiMera and Jake Lambert on ‘Days of Our Lives’ and Johnny Zacchara on the ABC Daytime Soap Opera ‘General Hospital.’
During those years, he’s managed to acquire many Soap Opera fans as followers. He’s beloved for his looks, talents and charisma, and while it was naturally shocking to fans to learn of his exit, it’s likely it is not his final adieu to the world of Soaps
Reports claim that he is being considered for a role in “The Bold and Beautiful.’ However, he will not be playing an original character, but rather taking up the role of Wyatt Spencer from where star Darin Brooks left it.
If this doesn’t work out, fans are eager to get him back on ‘General Hospital’ to fill the role of Nikolas Cassadine. The fan-favorite character was made famous by actor Tyler Christopher, who sadly passed away last year.
B&B Spoilers – What Brandon Barash Has Said About Getting Kicked Out of ‘Days of Our Lives’
Yes, it may have been a huge blow to the fans to find out that Barash will be dropping the roles of Stefan DiMera and Jake Lambert on Days, but it was an even bigger blow to the star to receive the news.
He likened hearing the news to a “gut punch,” since he’s been on the show for five years.
“I knew exactly what was happening as soon as I was called up to [the boss’] office,” he said during an interview with Soaps.com. “And she said, ‘Look, this is not my doing. I don’t like it. And this is no reflection on you or your abilities. You’re very talented. We know your work ethic is very high, but it’s just where we’re deciding to take the character.’”
“Of course, the ego is like, ‘Oh, okay, that hurt,’” he continued. “But I walked out of the office equal parts shocked and excited about what was around the corner.”
Speaking on whether there’s a chance he might return, he confessed he didn’t have any idea on that. “This is the second time this has happened to me on Days of Our Lives,” he told the outlet. And, you know, it would have to be very, very right. The terms would have to be right. The story would have to be right. The contract would have to be right. And I would have to be able to trust them. And I’ve lost that. I’ve lost that ability to trust that team, quite frankly.”
However, he remained hopeful that he’ll find where he is meant to be, sooner rather than later.
