At the hospital, Sam begs Carly to retract Sonny’s bogus alibi to save Alexis. They go to Lulu’s room, where Carly fiercely defends Sonny. As Sam pleads with her, Carly points to her comatose cousin. All she cares about right now is saving Lulu. Sam knows Carly sent Jason after Lucky to accomplish that goal and urges her to think about someone else’s family for once. She’s terrified for Jason and prays that she doesn’t have to tell her son — again — that his father is dead. In return for Carly asking her son’s father to risk his life, Sam wants Carly to tell the truth about Sonny.
In the Pentonville visitors’ room, Martin implores Alexis to point the cops at the perfect suspect: Sonny Corinthos. Alexis refuses. She knows Kristina would incriminate herself in court should she feel the need to protect both her parents. Martin loses patience with his client, but Alexis suggests he point the finger at any of John Cates’ many other enemies.
In Kristina’s living room, she admits to Sonny she may have said too much to Chase when he questioned her. She also admits she went to the Quartermaine’s to kill John Cates. Sonny understands that she was going through a mental health crisis. Kristina says she’s been seeking help at the hospital and credits him with setting a good example. Sonny warns that killing someone, even someone like Cates, marks you for the rest of your life. He doesn’t want that for her. She asks if he’s carrying that burden. Sonny responds that Jagger was going to continue punishing her to get to him. That will no longer be a problem. “Because of you?” Kristina cautiously says. Sonny says all that matters is that she knows how much she means to him. When she pleads with him not to let her mother pay for a crime she didn’t commit, he vows Alexis will be okay. She will get out of this. They all will.

Jordan visits Isaiah at the hospital with a pastry. They engage in light banter until Jordan gets a call. She tensely answers. Detecting her change in mood, Isaiah asks if she wants to talk about it. Jordan reluctantly opens up about the loss of TJ and Molly’s baby. The call was about the headstone, which is ready. He asks how she’s doing, but she deflects. This is Molly and TJ’s loss. Isaiah knows it’s her loss, too, and encourages her to seek closure.
At the poker table in Sidwell’s camp, he asks why Jason and Anna are really there. Holly leaves to freshen up as Anna lies about her wanting to help him move his precious materials. Jason stands protectively as her security while a dubious Sidwell asks for references. Anna plugs a number into his phone for him to call. When it checks out, a menacing Sidwell says doing business with Anna would be profitable and interesting… if it weren’t so convenient.
Lucky tries to open his cell door with a knife, but hides it when a guard comes with food. As Lucky chats him up, the guard says the boss came back with fancy guests. When alone again, Lucky deduces there will be a least one car there. He gets back to work on his locked door. Upon opening it, he runs into Holly, who was coming to free him. Lucky wants to make a run for it, but Holly says they need to get Sidwell’s fancy guests. As they debate it, Sidwell and one his men find them.
After Martin has left, Alexis meets with Jordan in the visitors’ room. As they commiserate over losing a grandchild, Jordan asks if Alexis was going to help Kristina get custody of baby Irene. Alexis vows she stayed out of it but held on to the petition, believing Kristina would change her mind. Jordan worries the tragedy will tear TJ and Molly apart, but Alexis is hopeful they’ll be okay. Whatever happens, Alexis and Jordan will always think of the other’s child as their own.

Martin meets with Molly, who deduces that Sonny hired him to represent Alexis. She suggests the best defense for her mother is to point the finger at his employer. They agree Sonny would never confess, and that Jason and Kristina would never turn on him. So, they need to target a weak link. Molly suggests Carly.
An excited Carly comes to Isaiah’s room, confident Lucky will be recused any time now. Isaiah grows less enthusiastic upon learning she sent one man in, even if it is Jason. Carly assures him Anna is with him and the WSB is helping, unofficially. Isaiah isn’t entirely appeased, worried his friends will end up dead right beside Lucky.
