Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) left fans reeling over a major cliffhanger during the closing moments of the Friday, August 30 episode, and the storyline continues to unravel with shocking twists and turns. Maurice Benard recently spoke about his character’s bold moves, as of late.

General Hospital Spoilers – Maurice Benard Is Impressed

GH spoilers remind fans that Sonny was the one who shot John “Jagger” Cates not once, but twice, behind the Q’s mansion, in an explosive confrontation that fateful Friday.

Maurice Benard recently welcomed Adam Huss (Nikolas Cassadine) to his State of Mind podcast. Both actors had some interesting things to say about Sonny and GH.

Benard noted that GH is “doing really good” right now. He goes on to say that “I (Sonny) shot Jagger” and he’s “no more”.

Maurice recalls that in Sonny’s three-plus decades in Port Charles, he’s only shot maybe three people himself. After all, mob bosses usually use henchmen for deeds like this. Meanwhile, Adam referred to Sonny’s behavior as “pretty bold”, to which Benard agreed.

GH Spoilers – Sonny Corthinos’s Bold Behavior

In fact, Sonny brought up the fact that shooting Agent Cates was “too” bold, and usually Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) or someone else does it.

As the two were talking about it, Benard remembered the last person Sonny shot, which happened to be Michael Corinthos’s (Chad Duell) biological father, AJ Quartermaine (Sean Kanan). Benard states that he “shot Michael’s dad” too, which was “pretty *bleeping* wild”.

Sonny shooting Cates, the way he did and where he did, has turned out to be a crazy mess. While Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) has agreed to be his alibi, and Jason got rid of the gun and bullets, Kristina Corintos-Davis (Kate Mansi) has created a sticky situation by stealing one of her dad’s guns. This, of course, happened the night John got shot.

To make matters worse, her mom, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) threw said gun off a bridge, only to be discovered by Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst). What happens next? Fans will have to tune in to find out!
