Billy suggests that the Newman is ready to be put out to pasture and Victor thinks he’s delusional. The Mustache calls Billy a “peacock,” and then laughs and tells him to dream on when the Abbott refers to themas “equals”. Victor says he’s not only a peacock, but also a parasite who lives off the accomplishments of others. The Abbott thinks he’s underestimating him and will learn what he’s capable of. They bicker about Lily being the heart and soul of Chancellor. Billy reminds him of the name change and Victor wonders what Jack thinks of it. When Billy insists he knows what he’s doing, Victor reminds him of gambling away the family yacht. Victor is sure that he is going to hurt the Abbott name and run the company into the ground. Chance thinks that Billy’s been ruthless. He can’t understand what just happened. Billy says you need to make tough decisions in the corporate world. Chance reminds him that he’s been to real war, not just corporate war, and in the end, the costs are almost always more than you imagined. He’s concerned about the leaps that Billy has been making and his choices aren’t inspiring a lot of confidence. He points out that Chancellor has an established record but the new company does not. The foundational company is in good shape because of Lily. It sounds to Billy like he’s preparing to jump ship. That’s not something Chance is sure about, but if Billy can turn on Lily so easily, what’s stopping him from turning on him. “Nothing. Just don’t give me a reason to,” says Billy. When Chance threatens to resign, Billy tries to back things up. They argue about Lily. Billy insists they don’t need her, just trust. He’s not going to let anyone stop them from making the company into a powerhouse. Shaking his head, Chance wonders what’s wrong with him. In Chancellor Park, Chelsea tells Sally that she can’t be done with Adam. Sally insists it’s over but the other woman urges her not to make such a big decision so quickly. The redhead doesn’t think she’s in any position to be giving her advice about this. That’s something Chelsea can admit but she still begs her not to give up on Adam. He’s terrified of being abandoned and that’s why he has such a hard time navigating between right and wrong. When he wants to protect someone, he can be his own worst enemy and that’s what he was doing. She’s sure that Sally knows that and that her love has made him more gentle and soft. Sally accuses Chelsea of wanting her to stay with Adam so she will feel less guilty about her role in destroying the relationship. “I know how much Adam loves me. But it’s not enough… for either of us,” says Sally. Chelsea insists that love is enough and can conquer anything. She’s confident that Adam can make things up to her if she gives him a chance. He’s been through a lot as he dealt with what’s happened to Connor. He’s found more strength than he knew he had. The weight of feeling helpless meant that he lost his footing for one moment. A moment that will never happen again.

Sally and Chelsea argue about Adam Y&R

“You say that as if it’s the first time you and Adam cheated on Billy,” Sally points out. Chelsea admits her future with Billy is uncertain but she’s certain of Adam’s love for Sally. She’s determined to stay as far away from Adam as possible.

Adam joins them as she makes this declaration. He asks for a moment with Sally but she doesn’t think there’s any reason for them to ever speak again. The only person he needs to resolve things with is Chelsea. She storms off. Chelsea looks confused. When the topic changes to their son, Adam and his ex talk about Connor managing to drink out of a plastic cup today. Adam looks cornered when she asks him what Sally meant about them needing to resolve things. He tries changing the subject again and blames her for getting Sally worked up. She insists she was fighting for him and begging Sally to take him back. This is all fresh; maybe all it needs is time. Adam tries to walk away, but she asks him about what Sally said again. The Newman suggests that Sally may be trying to find some meaning in all of this. Maybe that would make it make sense. Chelsea can’t imagine what she thinks could have happened. He claims he has no idea what Sally was talking about. The bottom line is that they screwed up. Does she really think Billy will take her back? Chelsea is not willing to give up yet and she doesn’t think he should either. Staring in his eyes, she says that night should never have happened and they will never discuss it again.

Victor enters the lounge and joins Lily at a table. He’s heard that she’s not happy with how things are going at Abbott Chancellor and that working with Billy is hardly a walk in the park. She admits it has gone beyond that. Billy has decided to run the company on his own and fired her. Victor ponders that. She explains that Billy fired her because he thought she was plotting to push him out. He was right about that. “Good for you,” Victor says, admiringly. She explains she’s not loyal to Billy but to the company. Victor feels that her father and Katherine would be proud of what she’s done. She admits that Jill putting Billy in charge drove her over the edge. It was a mistake. Billy is impulsive and arrogant and she felt no choice but to push him out. Lily refuses to walk away from a company she’s invested so much in and is determined to protect Katherine’s legacy. Since she can’t protect it on her own and she knows that Victor’s loyal to Katherine and has nothing but contempt for Billy, she guesses that he is planning a takeover. If that’s true, she wants to help. She wants to restore it to a company Katherine would be proud of.
