General Hospital Comings And Goings For Next Week: [THIS] Character Is Leaving Port Charles, One Newcomer Arrives
General Hospital Comings and Goings for the week of July 22-26, 2024, reveal that one character is set to exit the show temporarily. While none of your favourite stars are quitting permanently this week, one new character will be introduced to the soap.
Furthermore, two GH members are returning to Port Charles this week, and another character will have more airtime. With no recasts planned during this period, fans can expect the current cast to shine in their existing roles and deliver more excitement. Keep reading for more details.
Jake Webber Is Off To Art School
General Hospital fans will see Hudson West’s portrayal of the character Jake Webber leaving the show. As we know, the daytime drama is currently running Jake’s storyline, where he attends art school in Spain and his departure isn’t permanent. The son of Elizabeth and Jason, who has been working since 2016, will continue to appear occasionally whenever the show needs him.
At the moment, the teen actor isn’t sharing any updates about his future on GH. Meanwhile, fans have been posting clips of his latest scene with Steve Burton’s Jason on X (formerly Twitter). While West has been reposting these tributes, he hasn’t responded to any questions about his arrival in Port Charles yet.
Just recently, there was a mention of Scarlett Fernandez’s Charlotte being abroad for school, but she still appeared in a recent episode. The same could easily apply to Jake. Being away from Port Charles doesn’t mean he is completely gone from GH.
However, according to the actor’s IMDb page, Hudson is involved in three other projects, which might be impacting his availability. Whatever the reason, his fans may need to stay tuned for updates on his schedule and future appearances on GH.

Two ICONIC Characters Return
Meanwhile, the show will welcome back two members who have been away for some time. One of them is Asher Antonyzyn as Danny Morgan, and the other is Carolyn Hennesy as attorney Diane Miller.
Both of their returns will add twists and turns to the ongoing storylines, providing fresh interactions with the current cast. While Danny will talk to his on-screen dad, Jason, and Diane will enjoy playing her own part.
Carolyn has been portraying the character since its debut on December 13, 2006. As Diane and Nancy Lee Grahn’s Alexis are best friends, they share a great bond on the show. But now, spoilers reveal Diane will issue a stern warning about the need to unite against Ava. So fans should expect increased drama as she plans something big and daring.

Later this week, Kin Shriner’s Scott Baldwin will enjoy more airtime as he and Ava plan their own strategy. Since Ava’s placebo scheme is already underway, both of them might plot something destructive to bring havoc to Sonny’s life.
Their strategy might cause Sonny to lose the custody battle for Avery against Ava. Scott, who debuted in the role in 1977, was initially part of a love triangle with Laura and Luke Spencer. Once portrayed in a heroic light, he is now taking on a more negative role.
A Newcomer Enters PC
Finally, we will have an actor debuting in a fresh new role. Dutch Johnson will make his debut at General Hospital this week as the new Pentonville warden. Expect him to share the screen with Finola Hughes’ Anna. As Anna plans to investigate something, she will go to the prison to meet the new warden to seek information from him.
Johnson, an actor based in New York, is well-known for his recent work in The Swarm (2023). So far, we have no updates on whether he is joining for a single episode or as a recurring cast member. Keep an eye out for further updates about his role.
